2024-25 GMC Top Active Scorers

Timothy Christian’s Jalen Fleming is closing in on the school’s all-time scoring mark held by Warren Fitch (1,819 points). Fleming became the 9th player to score 2,000 career points in Middlesex County this season.

Check out the 2024-25 GMC Top Active Scorers. A large group of top scorers from the Greater Middlesex Conference including several 1,000-point scorers, have graduated and moved on, but there are also a good number of top players coming back this season.

2024-25 GMC Top Active Scorers–Players Graduated

The GMC lost seven 1,000-point scorers to graduation: St. Joseph’s Jeremy Clayville (1,416 points), Kiye Walker (1,140 points) and Dan Yarus (1,101 points) of Spotswood, Calvary Christian’s Robert Kauffman (1,084 points), East Brunswick Magnet’s Estevan Atanacio (1,064 points), South Amboy’s Gavin Pelkey (1,062 points), and Woodbridge’s Micah Eason (1,059 points).

In addition, Myles Dickerson, who became Timothy Christian’s latest 1,000-point scorer in the opening round of the 2024 Non-Public B North State Playoffs, transferred to College Achieve – Asbury Park. However, 57 players returned including two 1,000-point scorers: Jalen Fleming of Timothy Christian and Alex Grospe of South River.

2024-25 Players Returning–GMC Top Active Scorers

Currently, there are three boys basketball players in the Greater Middlesex Conference with 1,000 career points this season. Jalen Fleming of Timothy Christian (2,152 points), Alex Grospe of South River (2,173 points), and Colonia’s Aiden Derkack (1,739 points).

By late January, three more players joined the 1,000-point club The most recent one was Sam Jones, who became the 9th player in Sayreville boys basketball history to score a grand. Jones currently has 1,236 points. Krish Patel of Old Bridge (1,278 points) reached the 1,000-point plateau during a 71-52 victory over St. Joseph’s on January 7th. East Brunswick’s Matt Mikulka became the school’s all-time leading scorer in a late-season win over Cranford, and now has 1,353 career points.

Since the end of January, several more players surpassed the 1,000-point mark. North Brunswick’s Tommy Koroma finished with 1,170 points followed by Middlesex’s Owen Reynolds, who ended up with 1,157 points including a 39-point performance versus South River on January 22nd. Sayreville’s Chidi Chukwurah joined Jones on the list and currently has 1,153 points. Dunellen’s Ryan Hutchins scored his 1,000th in the same game that Reynolds did and ended his career with sits at 1,125. St. Thomas Aquinas’ Aiden Ur concluded his career with 1,113.

The 2024-25 Greater Middlesex Conference Boys Basketball season ended with 126 players making the list. To get on to the list, a GMC player must have scored at least 200 points in their career. Below is the full list of players that made the list this year, and their total of career points.
