Check out the 2024-25 GMC Top Active Scorers. A large group of top scorers from the Greater Middlesex Conference including several 1,000 point scorers, have graduated and moved on, but there are also a good number of top players coming back this season.
2024-25 GMC Top Active Scorers–Players Graduated
The GMC lost seven 1,000-point scorers to graduation: St. Joseph’s Jeremy Clayville (1,416 points), Kiye Walker (1,140 points) and Dan Yarus (1,101 points) of Spotswood, Calvary Christian’s Robert Kauffman (1,084 points), East Brunswick Magnet’s Estevan Atanacio (1,064 points), South Amboy’s Gavin Pelkey (1,062 points), and Woodbridge’s Micah Eason (1,059 points).
In addition, Myles Dickerson, who became Timothy Christian’s latest 1,000-point scorer in the opening round of the 2024 Non-Public B North State Playoffs, transferred to College Achieve – Asbury Park. However, there are 57 players returning including two 1,000 point scorers: Jalen Fleming of Timothy Christian and Alex Grospe of South River.
2024-25 Players Returning–GMC Top Active Scorers
Currently, there are three boys basketball players in the Greater Middlesex Conference with 1,000 career points this season. Jalen Fleming of Timothy Christian (1,536 points), Alex Grospe of South River (1,419 points), and Colonia’s Aiden Derkack (1,104 points).
Derkack became the latest active scorer in the GMC to cross the 1,000-point barrier. The Colonia junior scored 25 to lead Colonia to a 46-40 victory over St. Peter’s Prep in the 2024 NJBCA Tip-Off Classic at Montgomery High School on December 14th. Then, Derkack added 30 more in an 80-61 win over Piscataway on December 19th.
Old Bridge’s Krish Patel is the next player poised to reach the 1,000-point milestone. Patel currently has 911 points after scoring 10 in an 81-50 victory over South River on December 23rd. Patel is averaging 13.7 points per contest for the Knights. East Brunswick’s Matt Mikulka is next after that with 844 points. Mikulka pumped in a game-high 26 in a 65-61 victory at Woodbridge on December 21st. Mikulka is currently averaging 25 points per game.
