2010 Hoop Group Headquarters Fall League–Some Results–October 18th

NEPTUNE, NJ–On Monday night, GMC Hoops traveled down to the Hoop Group Headquarters to take in a game from the fall league there. It was the sixth week of action in this league, and the site got to see only one of the three GMC teams in the league in action as East Brunswick and Cardinal McCarrick played in the 7:00 PM hour, and Old Bridge played in the 8:00 PM hour. The site also got results of eight other games. Here are some of the results from some of the games played on Monday night.

2010 Hoop Group Headquarters Fall League–Some Results–Week Six–October 18, 2010

  • G-Force 53–Old Bridge 37–The Stallions shot 21 of 42 from the floor including a robust 16 of 26 in the second half for the victory. G-Force also outscored Old Bridge 9-3 down the stretch to wrap up the victory. The Union County AAU squad outscored Old Bridge 12-3 from three point range as well. Old Bridge, which outrebounded G-Force by a margin of 32-21 including a an 18-6 edge on the offensive glass, scored nine second chance points versus none for the Stallions. However, the Knights only shot 16 of 49 from the floor including 9 of 26 in the second half. Sultan Aminu led OBHS with 11 points, 9 rebounds, and an assist while Isaiah Velez chipped in with 5 points and 7 rebounds. Rob Gomulka helped pace G-Force with 13 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and a block.
  • Cardinal McCarrick 67–Middletown South 40–The Eagles remained undefeated at 6-0 with another strong performance against winless Middletown South in a battle of Eagles.
  • Colts Neck 60–East Brunswick 58–The Bears fell from the ranks of the unbeaten with a two point loss to the Cougars from the Shore Conference.
