East Brunswick Splits Two Games at MSC on Halloween Night
MONROE, NJ–On Thursday night, GMC Hoops traveled over to the Monroe Sports Center Fall League to see East Brunswick in action. The Bears were playing in back to back contests against Bordentown of the Burlington County Scholastic League and Robbinsville of the Colonial Valley Conference. EB broke away from a 14-13 lead towards the end of the first half with a 10-4 spurt for a 24-17 lead at the intermission, and then opened the second half on a 15-2 tear to take a 39-19 lead before hanging on for a four point victory.
Matt Perel sealed the win with two free throws in the waning seconds. In the second game, fatigue set in on the Bears, and they couldn’t overcome it as Robbinsville pulled away from an 11-11 tie with a 17-9 spurt over the last eight and a half minutes of the first half, and EB couldn’t get any closer than 8 points in the 2nd half en route to a 17 point loss.
