2014 East Brunswick/GMC JV Tourney Coming Up

Team Record Sheets, Rosters, and Checks Due February 10th

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ–Earlier this week, GMC Hoops was contacted by East Brunswick Athletic Director, and former boys basketball coach, Frank Noppenberger in regards to the upcoming 2014 East Brunswick/GMC Junior Varsity Basketball Tournament.  This is the 33rd year that the tournament is being run.

As always, there will be both a Boys JV Tournament and a Girls JV Tournament.  The tournament will be starting in the next couple weeks with preliminary round games on or before February 18th.  First round games are expected to be completed on or before February 20th.  Quarterfinals will be held on or before February 22nd.  The Preliminary, First Round, and Quarterfinal round games will be played at the higher seeded team with the home team hiring and paying for the officials.

The semifinals and championship games will all be played at East Brunswick High School.  The JV Girls semifinals will be played on Tuesday, February 25th at 5:30 and 7:00 PM.  The JV Boys semifinals will be played on Wednesday, Februaray 26th at 5:30 and 7:00 PM.  The Championship games this year are scheduled for Friday, February 28th with the Girls JV Final at 4:30 PM followed by the Boys JV Final at 6:00 PM.  

Schools will be notified of their seed and opening round opponent by 12:00 PM on February 14th.  There will be a $100.00 entry fee per team, which helps cover expenses and awards.  Checks should be made out to East Brunswick Athletic Events, and sent to Frank Noppenberger at EBHS.  As far as eligility goes, a player is eligible for the JV Tourney if he or she has been on the JV roster all season, and does not play more than 4 quarters at any other level from February 10th to the end of the tournament.
