St. Thomas Aquinas’ Adams Selected as Tourney MVP

NOTE: The 2020 All GMCT Boys Team is selected by Greg Machos and James Corrigan of GMC Hoops with exception of Tourney MVP.

EDISON, NJ—On Friday night, the second seeded St. Thomas Aquinas Trojans team won its first Greater Middlesex Conference Boys Tournament Championship in 28 years, and 3rd conference/county title overall with a convincing 63-52 victory over fourth seeded South Brunswick in the 2020 Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament at Middlesex County College.

St. Thomas Aquinas’ Quadry Adams, who has committed to play NCAA Division I basketball next year at Wake Forest in North Carolina and the ACC, returned to the lineup to scored 17 points including three dunks while also collecting 5 rebounds, and 3 assists to guide the Trojans to its first boys title since 1992, and was selected as the GMCT Boys MVP. Adams, who now has 1,205 career points, averaged 19.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game during the course of the tourney.

Adams, who sat out the semifinal game against Edison on Tuesday night after suffering an injury versus Colonia in the quarterfinals, made 22 field goals, one three, and 10 free throws during the course of the tournament including a 25 point effort in a 77-43 victory over 15th seeded South Plainfield in the 2020 GMCT Round of 16.

Adams is one of three different St. Thomas Aquinas players to be selected to the 2020 All GMCT Boys Team. Below are the selections:
