2021 Neptune Holiday Jubilee Schedule and Bracket

Colonia and St. Joseph’s Representing GMC in Holiday Tourney at Neptune HS

NEPTUNE, NJ—On Saturday, GMC Hoops learned that the 2021 Neptune Holiday Jubilee is scheduled to begin on Monday with Colonia and St. Joseph’s representing the Greater Middlesex Conference in this annual holiday tournament.  St. Joseph’s last appeared in this tourney in 2016 when the Falcons, led by Letrell West, defeated Seton Hall Prep (49-47) for the title.

The Falcons, currently ranked 2nd in the latest GMC Hoops Top Ten, is led by senior Ethan Simmon, who is among the top scorers in the GMC after the first week of action with a 23.3 points per game scoring average.  Colonia, ranked 3rd in the latest GMC Hoops Top Ten poll, is led by seniors Billy Anderson and Saivon Pressley.  Pressley is the GMC’s top active career scorer with 917 points as of the end of play on Thursday (December 23rd).

St. Joseph’s will open the first day of tournament action on Monday, December 27th with a 10:00 AM match-up versus Ewing.  Meanwhile, Colonia will end the first day of action with the nightcap game of the quadruple header against the host school, Neptune.   A win for St. Joe’s will put them in the semis versus the winner of the 11:45 AM contest between Lincoln of Jersey City and St. Rose of Belmar.  

A Colonia victory over Neptune will put the Patriots in the semifinal round versus the winner of the 1:30 PM contest on Monday between Payne Tech of Newark and Allentown.  Colonia and St. Joseph’s met in the semifinals of the Karl Anthony Towns-Jay Williams GMC Pod, which was won by Colonia (75-64) en route to the Patriots winning the pod over top seeded St. Thomas Aquinas.
