Piscataway’s Josh Lima goes up for a score in the first half against St. Thomas Aquinas in the 2023 Perth Amboy/GMC Freshmen Tourney Quarterfinals at Piscataway High School on February 10th. Lima was selected Tourney MVP.
PERTH AMBOY, NJ–On Friday afternoon, play concluded in the 2023 Perth Amboy/GMC Freshmen Tournament with the top seeded Piscataway Freshmen Chiefs defeating the 3rd seeded St. Joseph’s Freshmen Falcons in the Championship Game (72-59).
Piscataway won its first Perth Amboy/GMC Freshmen Tourney since 2017, and fifth overall. The Freshmen Chiefs also finished undefeated at 23-0. For the first time in several years, GMC Hoops has put together an All Tournament Team for this tourney. Special thanks to all of the coaches for their assistance in putting this together.
