Here are highlights from the action in the opening round game of the 2015 Shello-Santy Tournament between Hopatcong and the host, Dunellen Destroyers. Dunellen trailed late in the first period before going on a 9-5 run to end the first half to take a 17-14 lead. Yianni Garris hit two threes during the stretch including one at the buzzer to end the half.
The Destroyers then got another three from Garris at the start of the third, and a trey from Tyquan Fowler to bookend a 13-6 showing in the period and take its largest lead of the game at 30-20. Hopatcong would rally with a 16-8 effort in the fourth though, and had a couple of chances to tie down the stretch, but Dunellen was able to hang on for the 38-36 victory.
Fowler led DHS with 11 points while Garris and Nazire Jordan each added 9 for the winning cause. John McCloskey, Andrew Nee, and Anton Pezzano each scored 8 to lead Hopatcong.
