Blue Division – GMCT Top 4 Seeds

South River Becomes Highest Seeded Public School Team from GMC Blue Since 2006

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – On Friday morning, the 2023 GMCT boys bracket came out with South River earning the No. 3 seed. It was the first time since 1991 that the Rams earned a top four seed in the GMCT. It also marked only the second time since 2006 that a public school from the GMC Blue received a top four seed.

The highest seeded public school ever from the GMC Blue was 2006 Metuchen, which was led by Marqus Blakely (Vermont) and DeJuan Miller (played football at Oklahoma). The 2005-06 Bulldogs fell to Colonia in the 2006 GMCT Championship. Below is a list of the top four GMCT seeds from the Blue Division since 1986.
