GMC Gridiron–Game Capsules–Week Four–Freshmen Game of the Week

Featured Game is Monroe @ North Brunswick

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ–On Thursday afternoon, GMC Gridiron will continue its Freshmen Football coverage with a trip out to North Brunswick’s Steve Libro Field to see the Raiders in action against Monroe. So far this season, the two teams have gone in opposite directions with North Brunswick losing two games against tough competition while Monroe has won two games against a more favorable schedule. Below is a capsule on the game as well as a prediction. Note: Records listed aren’t complete. They are based on what we could find.

Monroe (2-0) at North Brunswick (0-2)–The Monroe Falcons have won two of their games with a third against Piscataway that there was no result. Meanwhile, North Brunswick has faced two of the more elite programs in the GMC Red over its first two weeks. On opening day, NBTHS faced Old Bridge and lost, 42-8. Then, the following week, the Raiders hosted Sayreville and were soundly defeated, 43-6. So, in two games, North Brunswick has gone 0-2, and has been outscored by an average margin of 43-7. At the same time, Monroe took on Edison in its first game at home, and won 8-6. Then, the Falcons defeated J.P. Stevens by a score of 24-14 last weekend. MTHS has won two games by an average margin of 16-11. Now, one of those teams Monroe defeated, Edison, we have seen twice against Old Bridge (loss 35-16) and Piscataway (loss 43-8), and the Falcons only edged the Eagles by two points at home. I think this game will be close, but Monroe gets the nod. Prediction: Monroe wins, 21-16.

GMC Gridiron will have game capsules on the varsity games for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday posted soon.
