GMC Gridiron–Game Notes–North Brunswick at Old Bridge–September 28, 2012

North Brunswick enters the game with an 0-3 record including losses to Monroe and East Brunswick.

Old Bridge is 1-2 after completing a tough stretch with games against Sayreville (loss 35-0), Piscataway (win 21-20), and South Brunswick (loss 27-21). Those teams are the three best teams in the GMC Red.

First Quarter

North Brunswick has not done anything offensively–two 3 and out drives on its first two possessions. An interception and a fumble on the other two.

2:52–OB–turns the ball over on downs–NBT ball.
2:02–NBT–fumbles the ball away on the second play of the drive.
28.9–OB–takes over at 28 yard line, and scores a couple plays later on a 21 yard run by Aaron Ford for a 20-0 lead.


Second Quarter

11:45–NBT–punts ball away after going three and out again.
11:09–OB–after getting the ball to midfield. The Knights get a first down at the NBT 38 yard line, and then a TD run by Gargano for a 27-0 lead.
11:04–NBT–receives kickoff…goes three plays and out before kicking the ball away at the 9:17 mark.
8:49–OB–gets the ball, and eventually gets possession at the 31 yard line of NBT after penalty.
6:50–OB–scores on 12 yard TD run by Ford for a 34-0 lead.
6:36–NBT–gets 1st first down of the game on 11 yard run by Parson.
1:21–NBT–calls timeout after Parsons converts a 4th and 15 with a completion.
24.5–NBT–scores first TD of game on a 3rd down and 3 pass from Parsons to Jarai Wise in the right corner of the end zone. OB blocks extra point attempt by Nick Sidotti for a 34-6 OB lead.
3.5–OB–gets a nice run by Ford, but it is negated by a false start penalty.

Fourth Quarter

8:49–NBT–gets a 69 yard run for a touchdown by Jaylen Hobdy for a 41-13 lead.

OB wins 41-13. Unofficially, the Knights had the ball for 6:04 of the third, and 5:19 of the fourth for total time of possession of 21:06 in the game while North Brunswick had the ball for about 26:54.
