Here are some highlights from the final 15 minutes or so of a football game that I happened to stumble upon while taking a trip to Waterfront Park in South Amboy after work on Monday night. Cardinal McCarrick was in action against Lincoln of Jersey City. The Lincoln Lions broke away from a 14-14 tie late in the second quarter with two scores, and then held on for a 26-20 win. McCarrick’s varsity football team had forfeited the rest of its games after not having enough players to play earlier this year.
