Two storm systems moved through the Garden State within the past 48 hours, and they ushered in more fall like conditions to the Central Jersey area. It will be a bit more chilly on this Friday night as supposed to previous weeks this football season. Temperatures are expected to tumble into the mid to upper 40s by daybreak on Saturday morning. Skies will be mostly clear though. Some clouds as well as winds from 15 to 20 miles per hour will prevent temperatures from getting any colder. So, you will want to wear a sweater or sweatshirt. More rainfall has occurred to the north and west. See more details on the latest weather in the GWC Blog and Journal.

Game Outlook

The Monroe Falcons began the season with a victory on the road over neighborhood rival East Brunswick. Since then, the Falcons have lost five straight including a 12-0 defeat at the hands of Edison two weeks ago last night. Meanwhile, Woodbridge has also stumbled with two straight losses after a high flying 4-0 start that included victories over Old Bridge, J.P. Stevens, Piscataway, and East Brunswick.

Injuries to top standouts such as Anthony Nyers and Cody Zalasar put the Barrons in a difficult position against top ranked South Brunswisck and second ranked Sayreville. Woodbridge fought valiantly in defeat to the Vikings at home a couple weeks ago. Turnovers were the villain in WHS loss to Sayreville last week. Kyle Anderson set the school mark for passing while Nyers is the all time receiver at Woodbridge.

Monroe has a good deal of talent, but may be in over their head in the rough and tumble GMC Red. In the past two seasons, the Falcons are 6-10 overall since moving up to the Red Division.
