MONROE, NJ–After being at the Summer Primetime Shootout on Saturday morning, GMC Hoops wrapped up the day with a trip over to the Monroe Recreation Center to see action from the 2016 MJBL Summer League between the Monroe Falcons 9B squad and Mac-N-Cheese.
Sparked by two threes from Jari Davis, and helped by contributions from varsity players Luke Patel, AK Patel, and Mike Kides, Monroe took a 17-10 lead with 6:42 to go in the first half. However, Mac-N-Cheese roared back with a 12-2 tear to end the half for a 22-19 lead at the break.
Monroe started the second half on a 13-8 run including 10 unanswered points for a 32-30 lead with 11 minutes left, but Mac-N-Cheese finished the contest on a 16-7 spurt for the 46-39 win. Below are game notes from the action:
