Here are old school highlights from the action in Dunellen’s win over Ridgefield Memorial in the 2013 North Jersey Section 2 Group 1 Quarterfinals at The Faber in Dunellen.
GMC Hoops traveled over to The Faber in Dunellen to see the fourth seeded Destroyers take on fifth seeded Ridgefield Memorial in the quarterfinals of the North Jersey Section 2 Group I State Tournament.
Leading by only three at 53-50 with 3:56 remaining, Dunellen closed the game on a 14-1 tear as the Destroyers converted on 14 of 16 from the foul line including 11 of 12 alone by sophomore David Johnson for the 67-51 win.
Johnson had a huge night for DHS with 27 points including 10 in the first half, and 17 in the second half to lead the way. With the victory, Dunellen makes its first appearance in the sectional semifinals since losing to Newark Science in the 2006 North Jersey Section 2 Group I tournament.
