Here is a slideshow of photos from the action in the contest between third ranked Colonia and Lakewood of Ocean County in the 2016 Richel Memorial Hoopfest at Roselle Catholic.
After there were four lead changes and four ties early on, Colonia, led by Kolby Chapmann and Chase Barneys, went on a 15-2 run to take a 28-15 lead late in the second quarter. Trailing 28-19 at the half, Lakewood, led by Adi Palmer and Sean Barksdale, went on a 22-13 surge to tie the game at 41-41 with under four minutes to play.
There were two ties after that before Colonia went ahead for good on a score by Chapmann off a dish by Barneys with 55 seconds left. Barneys then added two free throws with 19.5 seconds to play to wrap up the 50-46 win.
Chapmann finished with a game high 25 points while Barneys added 19 in the win for the Patriots while Barksdale led the Piners in defeat with 14 while Palmer chipped in with 13.
