Here is a slideshow of photos from the action in the opening round of the playoffs in the 2016 Moody Park Summer League. Seventh seeded South Brunswick defeated 10th seeded Trenton Central in its opening round playoff game, 42-25.
In other action, fourth seeded Bordentown, coming off a Central Jersey Group 2 Championship this past winter, rolled past 13th seeded Burlington Township by 45 during the 7:00 PM hour. Before that, eighth seeded Pennington won the only 6:00 PM game by downing 9th seeded Hightstown. Then, during the nightcap round of games at 8:00 PM, Council Rock North defeated Princeton by ten while Nottingham overcame a sluggish start to defeat Florence by eight.
South Brunswick advances to the quarterfinals to face second seeded Lawrence in a rematch of Monday night’s game at Ewing High School won by the Cardinals, 57-43. The two teams were also the Montgomery Team Camp, but didn’t play each other. Lawrence defeated Middlesex (60-45) and Spotswood (61-47) at Montgomery in June.
