Grand Opening of State of the Art Facility on February 25th
MANALAPAN, NJ–On Monday evening, GMC Hoops was contacted by Jimmy Cheng, the Director of Basketball for Sportika Sports about some great things happening with both Sportika and Hoop Nation.
Cheng, who is the driving force behind the Eric LeGrand Classic, which ran at Roselle Catholic on January 2nd and Kean University’s Harwood Arena on January 15th, announced that Sportika Sports and Hoop Nation have consolidated into a single AAU and travel basketball entity.
From now on, the new entity will be known as Sportika Hoop Nation AAU. The teams will have UnderArmour Uniforms and team spirit wear available for the players and parents. Currently, the program is running off the HoopNation web site, but this is only a temporary situation, and will transition to the new Sportika web site soon.
Sportika Hoop Nation is also having a grand opening of a new state of the art facility in Manalapan on February 25th. The facility will be 170,000 square feet, and will feature court rentals, a 50,000 square foot gymnasium, sports strategy and meeting rooms, comfortable viewing and wi-fi as well a spacious men’s and women’s locker rooms.
There will also be a video arcade center, food vending area, and a 3,000 square foot lounge. There will be multi-purpose rooms for birthday parties and clean restrooms throughout the complex. Hours of operation will be seven days per week from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

For U10 (4th Grade), U11 (5th Grade), U12 (6th Grade), U13 (7th Grade), and U14 (8th Grade):
- Wednesday, February 8th from 7:00 to 9:00 PM
- Thursday, February 9th from 7:00 to 9:00 PM
- Sunday, February 12th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
- Make up day is Wednesday, February 15th from 7:00 to 9:00 PM
For U15 (9th Grade), U16 (10th Grade), U17 (11th Grade), and U18 (12th Grade):
- Sunday, February 19th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
- Sunday, March 5th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
- Tuesday, March 7th from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
- Wednesday, March 8th from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
