Linden Fall League–Some Results–October 25, 2016

Both Old Bridge and South Brunswick Fall at Linden

LINDEN, NJ–On Tuesday night, GMC Hoops traveled over to the Linden P.A.L. To take in action at the 2016 Linden Fall League. Both teams from the Greater Middlesex Conference in the league, Old Bridge and South Brunswick, were in action. The Knights of OBHS took on the host school, Linden while South Brunswick battled another Union County Conference school in Union Catholic.

Old Bridge struggled early on against a solid Linden team. The Tigers eventually had a 24-7 lead early in the third period, and increased that advantage to 37-9 midway through the frame before the Knights finished the contest on a 25-13 surge to round out the 50-34 Linden victory. Kyle Paris was a bright spot in defeat for Old Bridge.

In the nightcap of the GMC Hoops doubleheader, South Brunswick gave way to a 18-2 tear from the very end of the first period to the 2:17 mark of the second quarter as Union Catholic took a 30-13 lead. SBHS, led by the three point shooting of Ryan Moran, and the play of Mike Ugarte, roared back to tie the game at 58-58 with 34 seconds remaining before Union Catholic went 5 of 6 from the line down the stretch for a 63-58 victory.
