Middlesex JV Summer League Looking for Teams

Junior Varsity Summer League Looking to Expand to 16 Teams

MIDDLESEX, NJ—With the 2021-22 New Jersey High School Basketball season over, teams now begin their off-season work.  The AAU season is now underway, and summer leagues are approaching.  One of those summer leagues is the Middlesex JV Summer League, which has been running for several seasons now.  Trying to expand to 16 teams for this summer, the Middlesex JV Summer League is looking for teams.

This summer will be the fifth year anniversary of the league.  Started by Middlesex varsity boys basketball head coach Jared Goldstein in June 2017, the Middlesex JV Summer League has grown from a handful of teams to a league with schools from around Central Jersey.  The league normally plays two days a week.  For example, last summer, games took place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Middlesex High School’s Gym.

Last year, the league had teams from several different conferences:  Greater Middlesex Conference, Skyland Conference, and Union County Conference.  Middlesex, East Brunswick, Old Bridge, South Plainfield, and Spotswood represented the GMC.  New Providence and Westfield represented the UCC, and Hunterdon Central, Immaculata, and Ridge represented the Skyland.  So far, 14 teams have expressed interest.  Games will be played at Middlesex High School’s Gym.

Each team will get to play 10 games guaranteed for $650.00.  There will be no playoffs.  If you are interested in entering your JV team into this league, please contact Middlesex boys basketball head coach, Jared Goldstein at goldsteinj@middlesex.k12.nj.us.  GMC Hoops covered this league several times during the course of last summer, and plans to provide some coverage this year as well.
