Middlesex JV Summer League Returning in 2023

League Still Looking for a Few More Teams

MIDDLESEX, NJ – On Wednesday morning, GMC Hoops was contacted by Middlesex varsity boys basketball head coach, Jared Goldstein in regards to the Middlesex JV Summer League, which is returning in 2023.  The league has been growing over the past couple of years, and is looking to have a few more teams.  Last year, the league had 14 teams, and is looking to get 16 this season.

Last year, the league played games at both Middlesex High School and Von E. Mauger Middle School.  The league has been in existence since 2017, and has been made up of teams from around Central Jersey.  So far this year, 13 teams have committed to play and one more may also compete.  The 13 schools that have pledged to play come from three different conferences:  Greater Middlesex Conference, Skyland Conference, and the Union County Conference.

Teams that have been in the league the past several seasons include:  Middlesex, East Brunswick, South Plainfield, Ridge, Immaculata, Bridgewater-Raritan, and Hunterdon Central.  J.P. Stevens is also returning after joining the league last summer.  The league is slated to begin play on June 21st, and will play three times per week:  Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Here are the teams that have committed to play this summer so far:

  • Bridgewater-Raritan
  • Cranford
  • East Brunswick
  • Hunterdon Central
  • Immaculata
  • J.P. Stevens
  • Metuchen
