Odie Paige Summer League Returns for 2023

League Looking for More Teams

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – Another summer league returns this year.  The Odie Paige Summer League returns for 2023 at New Brunswick High School.  Currently, the league is looking for teams.

In the past teams such as New Brunswick, Elizabeth, Spotswood, Monroe, South Brunswick, St. Thomas Aquinas, Piscataway, North Brunswick, and Academy of Urban Leadership competed in the league.  Last year, Highland Park, Long Branch, New Brunswick, North Brunswick, North Plainfield, and South Brunswick competed in the league.

The league has mostly consisted of schools from the Greater Middlesex Conference but is not exclusive to them.  Last year, games ran from June 27th to August 8th.  Games were played at 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30 PM.  Late in the season, an additional game was added at 4:30 PM to make up for a lost day on July 20th.

The Odie Paige Summer League returns for 2023 from late June to early August. The league will run from June 27th to August 8th on Tuesday and Thursday nights.  Game times are 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30 PM. All games will be played at New Brunswick High School.

This summer will be the 6th for the league. The Odie Paige Summer League first began in 2016 and continued until 2019. Play halted for a couple of years due to COVID. Then, the league came back last summer with 6 teams. Five of the schools were from the GMC.

Each team will play 12 games during the summer.  There will be no playoffs.  If you are interested in competing in this league, contact contact New Brunswick boys basketball head coach, Antoine Allen by phone at (908) 531-2058 or via email at antoine_allen@nbpsnj.net.  GMC Hoops covered some of the action last summer and plans to return again this season.
