Amboy Tech Overcomes Early Deficit To Roll Past E.B. Tech, 70-44

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ–The Patriots trailed East Brunswick Tech 10-0 to start the game. After a couple of timeouts and a couple of subs, the Amboy Tech defense stiffened and the Patriots outscored the Tigers 16-6. The 1st period rally was lead by Jon Aquije and Wilson Lopez. Perth Amboy Tech pressured the Tigers in quarter number two as steals lead to transition baskets. Soph Anthony Vidal scored 7 of his game high 15 in the 2nd period. The Patriots roared out of the lockeroom lead by Juniors Anthony Patterson (12) and Joey Castro (6) to break the game open. East Brunwick Tech was outscored 43-10 over the middle two periods.

Patterson finished with 14 points 6 rebounds 3 assists and 3 steals. Vidal added 3 assists 5 steals and 3 deflections. Anthony Rodriguez added 5 points 5 rebounds 2 steals and 2 deflections. Castro totaled 12 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds and 3 steals. The Patriot bench delivered an energy burst tallying 20 points, 10 rebounds and 8 steals. Wilson Lopez lead the bench charge with 11 points 6 steals and 2 deflections.

Kurt Grothusen and Jon Aquije combined for 15 points 7 boards off the bench.
