South River vs. Keansburg–December 27, 2008–South Amboy Tournament

South River Wins Consolation Over Keansburg, 56-52

SOUTH AMBOY, NJ–On Saturday, the South River Rams boys basketball team won the consolation game in the 2008 South Amboy Tournament as they beat Keansburg by a score of 56-52.

Shawn Fenton, who was named to the All-Tournament Team, led the Rams with 17 points while Brandon Walsh scored all 13 of his points in the first half before leaving with an injury sustained early in the third quarter. Walsh also was hurt in the game against South Amboy on Friday.

South River, which lost its opening round game to the host school, South Amboy, evened their record at 2-2. The Rams will get back into regular season play before the holidays end thanks to a make up game with long time Blue Division rival, Spotswood on December 30th at 1:00 PM. The game had been originally scheduled for opening night, but was cancelled due to weather.
