Despite being around for a long time like St. Peter’s of New Brunswick, St. Mary’s of South Amboy, which later became Cardinal McCarrick, didn’t enjoy much success until the late 1990s and early 2000s. Under the direction of Joe Lewis, the Eagles won 20 games or more eight times over 14 years. McCarrick also won three Non-Public B South and two Greater Middlesex Conference Championships.
