Perth Amboy’s Ricardo (11 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists) and Vibert Reynolds of Edison (game high 23 points) were chosen GMC Hoops Players of the Game in the contest between the Panthers and the Eagles in Perth Amboy on January 3rd.
GMC Hoops returned to action after a break for the New Year’s holiday with a Greater Middlesex Conference White American Division clash between Edison and Perth Amboy.
Perth Amboy pulled away from a 30-26 halftime lead with a dominant second half for a 73-52 victory. Yandel Susana led a balanced attack with 18 points, while Justin Ramos added 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. Ricardo Reyes chipped in with 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists.
Vibert Reynolds led all scorers with a game-high 23 points in a losing cause for Edison. Teammate Julian Tan chipped in with 10. Both Reyes and Reynolds were selected as GMC Hoops Players of the Game.
Perth Amboy: Ricardo Reyes
Perth Amboy’s 5’8” senior guard scored 11 points on five field goals, including a pivotal and-1 in the third quarter. Reyes also collected 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and a steal. A transfer from Woodbridge, Reyes was playing his first game of the season and made a huge impact.
Edison: Vibert Reynolds
Reynolds, a 6’1” junior forward, led Edison in a losing cause with 23 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal, and a block. Reynolds made 9 field goals and 5 of 7 from the line.
