

South Plainfield’s Aiden Noblecilla (8 points) and Brody and Finn Marrah of Ramapo (game high 12 points) were chosen GMC Hoops Players of the Game in the contest between the Tigers and the Raiders at the Coaches vs. Cancer Shootout in Montgomery on January 10th.
GMC Hoops took in a battle between two North Jersey Group 3 contenders as South Plainfield took on Ramapo at the Coaches vs. Cancer Shootout in Montgomery on January 10th.
After a first quarter with four lead changes and a tie, and neither team having a lead bigger than five points, Ramapo broke the game open with a 19-6 second quarter that included five three-pointers.
The Raiders led 35-20 at the half, and increased that lead to 21 after three despite not scoring a point for the first 4:30 of the frame. Ramapo ended the period with 10 of the last 12 points.
Ramapo ended up sinking 10 three-pointers in the game and outscored South Plainfield by a 30-6 margin from beyond the arc. The Raiders also limited the Tigers to 16 points over the last three quarters.
Andrew Bena (9 points) and Aiden Noblecilla (8 points) were bright spots in defeat for South Plainfield as they combined for 17 of the team’s 30 points.
Brody and Finn Marrah each scored a game-high 12 points, while Alex Krakowiak added 10 for the winners.
Both Noblecilla and the Marrah brothers were selected as GMC Hoops Players of the Game.
South Plainfield: Aiden Noblecilla
Noblecilla, a 6’0” junior guard, was one of only a few bright spots in the loss to Ramapo at the Coaches vs. Cancer Shootout in Montgomery. He combined with sophomore forward Andrew Bena (9 points) for 17 of South Plainfield’s 30 points in the contest. Noblecilla scored his 8 points on four total field goals. He also collected 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. So far this season, Noblecilla is averaging 8.0 points, 3.4 assists, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game.
Ramapo: Brody Marrah and Finn Marrah
The Ramapo brothers shared the game high with 12 points to lead the Raiders to a 54-30 victory. Brody Marrah had five total field goals, including two threes. Finn Marrah also had five field goals and two threes. The Ramapo Raiders duo combined for four of the team’s ten threes in the game. So far this season, Brody Marrah is averaging 6.1 points per game, while Finn Marrah is averaging 13.2 points per contest and is second on the team in threes with 14.
