Established in 1960, South Brunswick High School had some success with a Group I State Championship team led by Buddy Rose in 1968. However, South Brunswick has enjoyed most of its success as a Group 4 school in the GMC Red Division with seven of the 11 seasons with at least 20 wins coming since 2001-02. The Vikings won CJ Group 4 sectional titles in 2007 and 2020 while reaching another final in 2023.
