Like Perth Amboy, Carteret, and New Brunswick, South River High School has been in existence for a long time. However, the Rams enjoyed their best success from 1976 to 1980 including back-to-back Middlesex County Tournament titles in 1978 and 1979. South River also put together a GMCT Elite Eight team in 1990 and 1991 and reached the GMCT Semifinals and CJ Group 2 Championship Game in 2023. Head coach Don Fadden led the Rams during its glory days in the mid to late 1970s and early 1980s.
