Wardlaw-Hartridge is a sleeping giant in Middlesex County basketball. A prep school similar to that of 2019 T of C Champion, Ranney in Monmouth County, and other non-public powerhouses such as Gill St. Bernard’s and Rutgers Prep in Somerset County, the Rams offer high-quality academics, but have only briefly enjoyed success in boys basketball.
During the mid-to-late 1990s, former St. Joseph’s head coach, Bill Kuchar led the school to three straight 20-win seasons. The Rams’ recent success under former head coach Brendan Wagner from 2019-2022 produced some excitement and division titles, but no 20-win seasons.
