The Woodbridge Barrons enjoyed a great deal of success in the 1970s and 1980s. From 1970 to 1983, the Barrons put together six 20-win seasons including the school’s best season ever in 1974-75. Even though the 1974-75 edition of the Barrons boys basketball team lost to arch-rival, Perth Amboy in a memorable 1975 Middlesex County Tourney Championship, it went on to win the Group 4 State Championship. Woodbridge enjoyed a resurgence from 2012 to 2017 under then-head coach Matt Gigliello.
