NEPTUNE, NJ–In addition to receiving the info on the JV Summer League being held at Rebounds, GMC Hoops also got info on the upcoming Varsity Summer League that will be run there as well from League Director, Joe Stein. What was the Rebounds Summer League, and now is the Hoop Group Varsity HS Summer League is also looking for teams.
This league historically is a very big league with as many as 40 plus teams joining, and most of them competing from the Shore Conference. Last year was the first time in several years that a GMC team did not compete in the league. Back in 2005, Sayreville participated while in 2006 Monroe took the trip down there, and in 2007 South Amboy competed.
As always, the league will be played on Monday and Wednesday nights for a period of about five weeks starting in June. Ten games are guaranteed for the teams that join up. Game times will be at 5:00 PM, 6:00 PM, 7:00 PM, 8:00 PM, and 9:00 PM. Cost for entry into the league is $650.00 per team.
