COLONIA, NJ–In the first game of the Monday playoff tripleheader at the 2016 Colonia JV Summer League at Colonia High School, seventh seeded Middlesex took on second seeded Roselle Catholic. For about the first five minutes of the game, the Junior Jays of Middlesex managed to stay competitive with the Junior Lions of RC. By hitting several threes, Middlesex actually managed to take a 9-8 lead with 15:24 remaining in the opening half. However, Roselle Catholic was able to eventually assert its will with a 31-2 surge to end the first half for a 39-11 halftime lead, and went on to win easily 62-21. First Half

5:27–MID–timeout–RC at the line leading 27-11 after scoring the last 6 points. RC has outscored MID by a 19-2 margin over the last 9:57. MID only has three treys and a layup for its scoring.
4:00–RC–just scored on a transition layup for a 29-11 lead.
0:00–RC–leading 39-11 after scoring the last 10 points over the final 4 minutes of the half. Outscored MID by a 31-2 margin over the last 15:24 of the half.
Second Half
13:54–MID–three pointer from the top of the key banks in for a 56-14 RC lead. Ends a 48-2 RC surge.
5:58–RC–now leads 62-14 after scoring on a layup. Reserves now in for the Junior Lions. RC on a 6-0 run.
0:00–RC–wins the game 62-21 after MID scored the last 7 points of the game. Junior Lions advance to the semifinals to play winner of Colonia-Spotswood game.
