GMC Hoops Highlights–July 11, 2016–Middlesex vs. Bridgewater–Bound Brook Summer League

Here are highlights from the action in Middlesex’s win over Bridgewater-Raritan at the 2016 Bound Brook Summer League. The game was a back and forth affair in the first half with four lead changes and two ties while neither team had a lead bigger than three points before Middlesex scored the final two points of the period on two free throws by Jake Robel for a 20-18 lead at the half.

Then, the Blue Jays scored the first five points of the second half on a three pointer by Chris Hendricks and a reverse layup by Robel for a 25-18 lead. Bridgewater-Raritan closed the gap to four at 29-24, but again Middlesex went on a 7-0 run including one of two free throws by Hendricks and a layup for a 36-24 lead with 11:05 remaining.

Bridgewater would get a three pointer and a layup to highlight a 6-0 run to cut the deficit in half and make the score 36-30 with 5:20 to play, but couldn’t get any closer as the Blue Jays scored 13 of the next 19 points including a dunk and a layup by Robel in the final minute to wrap up the 49-39 victory.
