Here is a slideshow from photos taken of the action in the GMCT Round of 16 contest between 24th seeded South Amboy and 8th seeded Timothy Christian at TCS. In a classic game between two Gold Division rivals, South Amboy became the first team seeded 20th or lower to reach the GMCT Elite Eight since the open tournament format was created in 1994. The Guvs are also the first Gold Division team to reach the GMCT quarterfinals since South Amboy did it in 2008. The Governors were able to accomplish this thanks to a runner from the left side by Steve Herdman with time running out for a 54-52 victory over the Tigers in overtime. Herdman finished with 9 points while Joe Fruncillo ended up with 17 points and 10 rebounds while teammate Dan Murphy scored 12 points including 10 in the first period on 5 of 6 shooting. Brandon Summers led TCS in a losing cause with 16 points while Zach Coyle chipped in with 13, and Matt DiLeo added 11.
