Just got in a little while ago from the game played between South Plainfield and Manchester Township at Frank R. Jost Memorial Field in South Plainfield. The Tigers played admirably in this one against a team that almost qualified for the state tournament last year. Jeff Praul caught several passes including one that was for a touchdown, and another that set up an Anthony Torchia touchdown run from the 1 yard line. However, Troy McNair’s extra point was wide right, and then Manchester came back down the field for a touchdown early in the fourth quarter for a 14-13 lead. South Plainfield drove down the field again, but Manchester Township picked off a Brendan Wilson pass to seal the one point victory. More details shortly. Here are all the results from the four games played.
- Manchester Township 14–South Plainfield 13
- Middlesex 14–Mater Dei 7
- Neptune 62–Bishop Ahr 0
- Monmouth Regional 41–Carteret 21
GMC Hoops will have a post on how it did this evening shortly.
