Here are highlights from the 2nd half action in the Round of 16 match-up in the 2016 East Brunswick/GMC JV Tournament between the top seeded Raiders, and 16th seeded Spotswood.
The Chargers, coming off a Preliminary Round win over Sayreville, trailed 38-22 early in the third quarter, but then scored 15 unanswered points to pull within one. However, North Brunswick scored the final four points of the period, and then went on a 13-0 run in the fourth to pull away from a 47-42 lead to take a 60-42 lead en route to a 64-46 victory. Avery Clagget led the JV Raiders with a game high 25 points including five three pointers.
Seven different players got into the scorebook for North Brunswick including Jhonell Brown with 10, Jordan Salisbury with 8, Josh Vick with 7, Mwanza Fitzpatrick with 6, and Quadir Bulter with 4. Matt Vento led Spotswood in a losing cause with 17 points while Abdul Nieskens chipped in with 13 and Justin Dekovics added 7. Both teams combined for 14 three pointers in the game with the JV Raiders and the JV Chargers each getting seven.
