Patriots and Lady Chiefs Join Hawks and Vikings in Representing the GMC in Annual Showcase at Montgomery HS
SKILLMAN, NJ—On Tuesday, GMC Hoops learned from Montgomery Boys Basketball head coach, Kris Grundy, that the 2019 Coaches vs. Cancer Shootout will take place at Montgomery High School on January 10th and 11th, and will have 10 games over the course of the two days starting with three games including a girls basketball contest featuring Piscataway on Friday evening starting at 5:00 PM followed by another 7 games including a JV contest on Saturday.
There are a total of 7 conferences that are represented in this year’s shootout including:
- Burlington County Scholastic League (Cinnaminson)
- Colonial Conference (Haddon Township)
- Colonial Valley Conference (Lawrence)
- Greater Middlesex Conference (Colonia, J.P. Stevens, Piscataway (Girls) and South Brunswick)
- Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference (Hackettstown)
- Shore Conference (Raritan)
- Skyland Conference (Bernards, Bridgewater-Raritan, Montgomery, North Plainfield, Somerville, Voorhees, and Watchung Hills)
Colonia, J.P. Stevens, and South Brunswick, will represent the GMC on the boys side while Piscataway will represent the conference on the girls side in the event. The Lady Chiefs will play on the first night of the event with a 6:30 PM match-up versus host school, Montgomery.
J.P. Stevens will be the first GMC boys team to take the floor at Montgomery on the second day with a 1:30 PM contest versus Somerville. Colonia will follow with a battle against North Hunterdon at 3:00 PM. Then, South Brunswick will cap the GMC tripleheader portion of the event with a clash against Lawrence at 5:00 PM.

- J.P. Stevens vs. Somerville, 1:30 PM
- Colonia vs. North Hunterdon, 3:30 PM
- Lawrence vs. South Brunswick, 5:00 PM
- Haddon Township vs. Montgomery, 7:00 PM
