Vikings Get Their First Win Of 2007-08 With Victory Over Panthers, 68-48

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ–The Vikings got their first win of the year on Tuesday with a 68-48 defeat of Perth Amboy. South Brunswick was led by Arman Wilson’s 20 points as he shot 7 of 15 from the field while handing out five assists. Jordan Teicher chipped in with 14 points on 3 of 6 shooting, including two threes, and made 6 of 6 from the line while Mohammed Sanu collected a double-double of 10 points and 11 boards. Troy Confessore played an overall good game with 10 points, 4 boards, and 4 assists. Early on, Perth Amboy took a 3-0 lead in the first two minutes of the game, but SB closed out the quarter on an 19-2 run for an 19-5 lead as Wilson registered 10 first quarter points. Doing well for Perth Amboy was senior forward Ed Guerra with 25 points, and eight offensive rebounds. At the end of third quarter, the score was 48-33 in favor of South Brunswick, but a quick 7-0 run at by a few sb turnovers cut it down to 8. Then SB put the hammer to them to close out the game with a 19-8 run over the last 6:22. SB played a good game, but will need to hit free throws against P-Way on thursday unlike tonight where they shot 15 of 26. With the victory, the Vikings move up to 1-1 in both division play, and overall on the season while Perth Amboy drops to 0-2.
