Rams’ Streak Improves To Three In A Row With A Relatively Easy Win Over Highland Park, 77-62

South River took control midway through the first quarter and continued their momentum to lead by sixteen at the half. The Rams kept up the pace getting the lead up to twenty-one after three. The Owls did made a bit of a run to start the fourth quarter getting the lead down to twelve, but the Rams went on a bit of a run themselves and ended up winning by fifteen.

The Rams led 44-28 at the half, and 63-42 after three quarters. Balanced scoring for the Rams, as they had four players hit double figures — Ed Dumas led SR with 21 points, followed by Jimmy Witkowski with 17. Brandon Walsh chipped in 12 points, and Steve Moore had 10.

Highland Park was paced by Benbow with 22 points. The Owls played most of the fourth quarter without their head coach who was ejected after arguing a charging foul, getting hit with two technical fouls. With the victory, South River improves to 3-1 overall, and 1-1 in divisional play. Meanwhile, Highland Park drops to 0-3. Next game for the Rams is away at Metuchen on Saturday @ 1PM.
