Perth Amboy Tech defeats South River 79-58

SOUTH RIVER, NJ–In a GMC crossover game, the Patriots broke open a 36-36 half-time tie by outscoring the Rams by 21 second half points. Anthony Patterson scored 10 of his game high 25 points in the decisive third period. Amboy Tech never trailed after that. Patterson grabbed 12 boards and also had 5 assists with 5 blocks.

The Patriots defense pressured the Rams all game and it seemed to take its toll in the second half. Junior Joey Castro battled on both ends of the court resulting in 20 points 8 rebounds 5 assists and 2 steals.

Sophs Anthony Rodriguez (10 points 5 rebounds 2 assists 2 steals a block and a charge) and Anthony Vidal 6 points 6 assists and 5 steals) were a big part of the team effort.

Junior point guard Alex Sanz chipped in with 11 points 5 assists 2 steals while setting up his teammates.

Wilson Lopez, Ruben Plata, Jon Aquije and Angel Gomez gave a great effort off the bench. With the victory, Perth Amboy Tech improves to 4-3 overall, and 4-2 in conference play while South River drops to 3-6 overall, and 2-4 in the GMC.
