2008 Raritan Bay Summer League Opener Rescheduled

SOUTH AMBOY, NJ–On Tuesday, GMC Hoops learned that the South Amboy based Raritan Bay Summer League has rescheduled its season opener slate of games due to a scheduling conflict. Originally, the league was set to start on Monday night, May 19th to tip off a full four day week of games at the air conditioned South Amboy Middle/High School Gymnasium. Now, the season opener has been pushed back one day with now only three days next week, where there will be games: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Consequently, teams have been shuffled around in order to accommodate the scheduling modification. Three notable changes are as follows: The St. Stan’s 7th and 8th Grade team coached by Ron Madiera, now is set to play on Thursday night, May 22nd at 8:30 PM against Metuchen. St. Stan’s is also now scheduled to take on Parlin in a 6:30 PM game on Wednesday night, May 21st. Milltown is now scheduled to take on the Scarlet Nets in the opening game on the new opening day at 5:30 on Tuesday, May 20th. Games will be played on all three days at 5:30 PM, 6:30 PM, 7:30 PM, and 8:30 PM. A high school matchup will occur on each of these days while there will be contests in all four grade levels the last two days of action next week. Overall, there are four different divisions with a record 30 teams: 3rd and 4th, 5th and 6th, 7th and 8th.
