EDISON, NJ–On Friday afternoon, GMC Hoops received the results of the first round of action in the MCC Summer League from Middlesex County College’s men’s basketball coach, Corey Lowery. All the top seeds advanced in the first round of play. Below are the results and the matchups for the Quarterfinals next week:

- 8. South River vs. 1. North Brunswick
- 5. South Hunterdon vs. 4. Timothy Christian I
- 6. Franklin vs. 3. Perth Amboy Tech
- 7. East Brunswick vs. 2. Keyport
Looking ahead, North Brunswick should have no problem with South River on Tuesday while South Hunterdon may have the best chance at an upset since it is 3-0 so far this summer against both TCS teams including a recent 42-31 victory over TCS I on July 10th. Franklin has a shot to beat Amboy Tech especially since the Warriors have athletic ability won’t be afraid to go up and down with the Pats, and Amboy Tech is vulnerable after the upset loss to East Brunswick’s JV. Speaking of the Junior Bears, EB faces second seeded Keyport in the quest for another upset.
