ELIZABETH, NJ–On Tuesday night, GMC Hoops received the seeds and first round pairings for the playoffs in the 2008 Elizabeth Summer League, which got underway on Wednesday night at the Dunn Center on the main campus of Elizabeth High School. The top four teams in both the Monday/Wednesday Division, and the Tuesday/Thursday Division qualified. Four of those teams were from the Greater Middlesex Conference including: Metuchen, Middlesex, Sayreville, and St. Joseph’s.
Two GMC teams that did not make the playoffs were: Carteret and Monroe. Below are the playoff seeds in the Monday/Wednesday Division and the Tuesday/Thursday Division, and opening round matchups. Note: This particular league did their seeding differently. The top four seeds in one division played off against the top four seeds in the other. Much like say when the SEC has their conference tournament in March for college basketball.
