COLONIA, NJ–On Tuesday night, the semifinals and finals took place at the 2008 Colonia JV Summer League over at Colonia High School. The two semifinal games took place first at 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM respectively followed by the Championship in the nightcap. Bolstered by the hometown crowd in attendance, eighth seeded Colonia I wrapped up a Cinderella run through the post-season tournament with a 49-43 victory over fourth seeded Cardinal McCarrick, and then a 62-42 victory over second seeded Perth Amboy in the final. The Junior Panthers had advanced to the Championship by defeating sixth seeded J.F. Kennedy in the semifinals. The Mustangs earned their final fourth berth by surprising third seeded St. Joseph’s, 30-28 in the Quarterfinals.
