There are three intriguing games right off the bat on the Week #3 Schedule around the GMC. First there is our featured game between Highland Park and Middlesex on Friday night at MHS. These two teams met twice during the season last year with Highland Park defeating the Blue Jays on Halloween Night at J.P. Stevens (45-36) while Middlesex knocked the Owls out in the first round of the Central Jersey Group I playoffs (16-14).
There are some other interesting rematches as well. One is a rematch of the Central Jersey Group I State Tournament as Shore Regional will travel up to Metuchen on Saturday afternoon to face the Bulldogs, which are fresh off a victory against Middlesex on Friday (20-13). Then, on Friday night, Wall Township will face South Plainfield for the first time since defeating the Tigers in the 1982 Central Jersey Group III Championship (21-0). Other games that will be worth seeing will be Monroe at East Brunswick in a battle of top teams in the Red and White Divisions, North Brunswick at Piscataway in another Red-White crossover, and New Brunswick traveling to Carteret in a White-Blue Division crossover.
