Here are the video highlights from the fourth quarter of action in the game between Cardinal McCarrick and Monroe from MTHS on Tuesday night. After work, I headed over to Monroe, and got there with about five minutes to go in the third quarter with the Purple Birds trailing. Cardinal McCarrick had fallen behind 23-5 in the first quarter, but outscored the Falcons by a margin of 31-11 over the next 11 to 12 minutes to take a 36-34 lead. However, Monroe finished the quarter with an 11-3 run to take a 45-39 lead heading into the fourth.
The Purple Birds lead by the score of 53-47 when Jeremy Cruz scored off the drive, Mo Isaac scored a layup off a pass from Craig Thomas (after Isaac drew a charge on Kenny Pace), and a steal for a layup by Thomas to cap the 6-0 burst, and tie the game at 53-53. On the very next possession, Ahmid Williams went coast to coast for a layup for a 55-53 lead. Zach Batchelor then sank a three pointer for a 58-53 lead, and then Danny Brix and older brother Timmy Brix combined to make 6 of 8 from the line to wrap up the 64-61 victory. Enjoy.
