Perth Amboy @ South Brunswick–January 16, 2010

Fans on Edge of their Seats as SB Pulls Away

Last Saturday the Vikings played host to the Perth Amboy Panthers. The game started off with a 13-0 run by the Vikings thanks to early scores by sophomores T.J. Taylor and Jevon Tyree. SB’s grilling defense caused Perth Amboy to force many ill-advised passes leading to multiple turnovers and fast break points.

At Halftime the score was 32-21 with the Vikings leading.

During the second half Perth Amboy made a run and outscored the Vikings 12-7 in the 3rd quarter cutting the margin to only 6 going into the fourth.

The Vikings were playing without their leading scorer Kory Sanders because of an injury. The rest of the players were forced to step up and make up for the offense due to his absence.

In the fourth, with Perth Amboy down by only three; Nick Muha took a crucial charge which forced the momentum back to SB with 1:00 left on the clock. A steal by Michael Green sealed the game, giving the Vikings their fourth win of the season.

T.J. Taylor and Danny Strickland led the Vikings in scoring with 10 points each. Junior Moses Railey added nine points forward Nick Muha brought a near double-double with eight points and 12 rebounds.

South Brunswick’s next game is @ J.P. Stevens who is currently 0-11.
