Fenton Registers Season High To Lift Rams Past Tigers

SOUTH RIVER, NJ–Senior center Shawn Fenton, averaging 20 points a game over his last six games, scored a season-high 24 to lead South River to their 8th win Saturday afternoon in South River. The Rams, winners of three of their last four games, trailed 18-12 after one quarter, but outscored Timothy Christian the rest of the way, including 18-10 in the third quarter when the Rams recaptured the lead after giving it away early in the first quarter.

A Fenton three pointer in the third gave South River back the lead for good, as they outscored the Tigers 38-26 in the second half.Junior forward Nick Boyler added 13 points for South River, including 6 of 8 from the free throw line. Xavier Foster chipped in with 7, while Brandon Walsh and Larry Smith each had 6.

Timothy Christian had three players in double figures, led by Kristian Svendsen with 17 points, David Bonamo with 16, and Dan Decker 12. With the win South River improved to 8-7, surpassing their win total of seven over the past two seasons, while Timothy Christian dropped to 6-7.
