Monroe Loses First Game Of Week At Montgomery Team Camp

Purple Birds Outscored 42-28 In Second Half Against Franklin In 74-68 Loss

SKILLMAN, NJ–On Wednesday, GMC Hoops took the long trek down to the new Montgomery High School to take in the third day of action at the team camp there. The site saw five games, and they were all quite competitive. Monroe won its first game of the evening against Hopewell Valley. The Falcons led 29-17 at halftime, and were up by as many as 18 points in the second half en route to a 52-41 victory over the Bulldogs.

However, in the nightcap, Monroe, which had entered the day at 4-0 on the week, stumbled against Franklin. The Purple Birds jumped out to a 40-32 halftime lead in a very fast paced high scoring game, but in the second half, the Warriors rallied with a 42-28 showing including a 20-8 outscoring over a span of 11:21 to defeat Monroe by a final score of 74-68. MTHS is now 5-1 on the week at Montgomery. Some results from tonight’s action will be posted shortly.
